Really the Giants must be wondering how they've lost that. At times they were all over us. Thank God for Kowalski, not that he's good enough to be netminder of the year of course...
Whether 2 goals lead turns out to be enough I guess we'll see, but it's a good start. Might need Kowalski to turn in another magnificent display.

A pretty solid defensive display from Panthers tonight, yes Giants had all the possesion and most of the chances but i thought we were excellent defensively (bar the odd moment)..K-Wall nothing more needs to be said... Lacho could of scored but somehow missed...agonising! The Giants 'non' goal looked like it hit the post and rolled on the line before being cleared...and to be honest only Shields seemed to appeal for it. Very poor crowd tonight,i know it was a non season tickets tuesday game and Notts were playing but still for a cup final was rubbish..3,007 Official attendance was 3007. Not bad for a mid-week no ST game. Sheffield have it that they have a SELL OUT for tomorrows game against Belfast but that is at Ice Sheffield. though. How many does IS hold not 3007 I bet? I actually thought the crowd was diabolical for a Cup Final Loveday - probably down to a number of factors: Non-Season Ticket Game Increased ticket prices Mid-week game - bad for kids Only 1st Leg of Final, so no real outcome at the end Notts County at home Arsenal v Barca on the boxNever mind - there's a really meaningless evening of hockey to look forward to on Saturday!

Forest away at Sheffield United as well, I would've gone to Panthers but went there instead. What a poor decision!

is the away leg on sky, or will i have to follow jono on tcw? Giants usually stream their games live from their website, cost about £8 or something. Have used it once before, was failry decent coverage.

We are going in McHugh's before the game, it's next to the bus station entrance before you go over the bridge. Excellent pint of Guinness

I dont buy this crap about it "not being on the season ticket" Get up and support your team, some of us cant afford season tickets and have no choice but to pay match by match And some people shelled out several hundred pounds, some even over £1000, for their family to all have season tickets. I personally didn't go because I didn't want to, wasn't interested enough to spend the cash on fuel, miss Barca vs Arsenal and go to the game. Sorry if that doesn't fit your ideal of everyone 'getting up and supporting their team' but it's my money and i'll do with it as I wish. I am lucky enough to be able to make a choice but your post is a little disrespectful to many people who aren't so lucky and have their financial situation dictate a choice to them, it's very rude to then suggest they are not supporting their team when actually they are simply living on a budget; something many other people in this country would do well to learn how to do.

I understand about how much you speant on season tickets but how could you not be interested in a us being in a cup final? Sorry if i just seem naive but that comment just puzzled me slightly. The honest answer is I don't know, although just to be clear I'm not saying I'm 'not bothered about us being in a cup final' what I am saying is that I wasn't bothered enough to spend 4 hours on the road, £30+ in fuel and £15 on a ticket to go. Not that the time and cost really come into it as usually they wouldn't even enter my head so I shouldn't really use them as 'barriers' as to be honest I just wasn't that up for going. There are a lot of reasons I'm disillusioned with Panthers so to be honest it's probably a very complex answer and much wider than me not mustering up the drive to attend the cup final game. If and when I get a question from the club about why I'm not renewing my season ticket I will hopefully have put together a more factual and succinct reason as to why! The comment about season tickets was not really directly about me, as I have said I am lucky enough to be able to make a straight decision about do I want to go or not without worrying about cost. What I was saying is that there are some people who perhaps aren't so lucky and can't afford to shell out more cash - that makes them no more or less of a fan than anybody else and they should not be castigated and told to 'get up and support your team' as it's not always that simple.

A lot of people are giving the old "im not paying to see the panthers until the sort their act out" so now I ask, can you please point me in the direction of the team thats never lost a game in 60+ years? I'll be glad to go support them, wherever they are.
