He's been nothing but reliable. He won't chip in with many goals but he's a great PKer as you say and he makes the fourth line into less of a liability.

I liked Betts when he was at NYR and wouldn't of minded the Leafs taking a run at him. He's like Mike Brown with our lot; as you say you aren't going to get many points but players like those two are true team guys.

How's Lupul been with you lot by the way? He scored last night but otherwise?

Any truth to the rumours that Philly are going to move Carter?

It was all a little Bryzy in Philly today.

It was all a little Bryzy in Philly today. Any idea how much coin he wants?

FSN reported he's wanting 8-10 years @ $7-8m, good luck with that.
I like Bryz and I'm sad to see him go, but good as his regular season performances have been, his post season performances have left big question marks.

If that's correct then don't the Flyers have to ship a lot of contracts out first?

Need to see where the cap goes, but they'll likely need to clear some space, if they'll give him that sort of money anyway. Think they have nearly $59m committed so far, 18 players.

Leafs lock up Reimer for the next three years, $5.4m which I'm delighted with. I shall be ordering a Reimer jersey tonight.
Now to get Schenn & MacArthur signed up.

If that's correct then don't the Flyers have to ship a lot of contracts out first? I wouldn't think a lot need to go. One of Carle/Versteeg/Carter will go, presumably one or both of the first two. One will give us enough for a reasonable contract offer to Bryz and both will give us him and Leino.

Wouldn't mind Carter, even with his contract that goes on until the end of time.

FSN reported he's wanting 8-10 years @ $7-8m, good luck with that. The Flyers' GM would have to be insane to go for that. Bryzgalov is no slouch, but no way is he worth that... neither the time nor the money. I know that traditionally the 'goalie problem' is the big thing in Philly... but I think they've got a lot more problems, especially after that horrendous crash in the play-offs - starting with the coach, then the captain, and working down to... well, most of the team really. They didn't lose because of the netminders, that's for sure...

I think the goalie problem is just that; bad goaltending is corrosive. If Bryzgalov can play to the level of an A1 goalie, they should be set. It'll be interesting if his post season play erodes his financial demands or whether Philadelphia just throw him a load of cash.

Well, that's what he supposedly asked Phoenix for, doesn't mean he'd ask Philly for the same. They give him a realistic chance of another cup, we give him a realistic chance of ending up in Quebec or Seattle or Kansas City or...

Leafs sign Carl Gunnarsson to a new two year deal worth about $2.6m which I'm pleased with; hopefully the longterm replacement for Kaberle.

If the Flyers can now do the decent thing and use that space to get Bryzy signed up before free agency, we should get another pick in the draft.
Nash & Carter'll be a nice pairing for the Jackets too.

Carter and Richards gone in a day,
Thats their two top centers I expected one to go but not two.
Expensive price to pay for Bryzgalov I'm not sure how this one is going to work out for them
Madness IMHO but we'll see what the draft brings for them as I believe they now pick 8th.

There were rumours for a long time that Richards enjoyed partying more than playing hockey. Strange that Philly traded both though...
