The Bracknell curse lives on after all this time ....
Not a happy bunny, but I wasn't there. I'm hearing bad things though ...
Looking forward to a full and honest account of the game from someone who went ...

You lost to one BNL club? God, i wish life was that simple for us Not gloating here, because we lost to 3 BNL teams anyway, but it certainly seems that the BNL sides do have the ability to cause a few upsets. Steelerfans were expecting us to struggle against some of the BNL teams, but the Panthers certainly seemed to have enough bog strong and experienced players to beat all/most BNL opposition. This defeat must really sting you guys! (opps, I just realised that I've just made a corny pun, and I didn't even mean to, sorry! ) At least Coventry kept up the EIHL end up tonight And a good old fashioned "bench clearance" too

Really disappointing performance all round I thought. Poor keeper must have been expecting a comparatively easy ride after last season but our defence was ripped open on a number of occaisions and he did well to keep it respectable.
I think we missed Craighead tonight as well, we didn't look like a team who were gelling and some of our passing and control was way below par. The messing around with lines that we needed to do in his absence may have been the cause of that (I don't know how good we've been since the last match I made in Coventry).
As far as commitment was concerned fair play they looked to be trying, perhaps too hard in one or two cases. The short story is we just couldn't string 2 passes together for most of the evening and were well beaten by a side who really didn't look anything special.

His not being there disrupted 2 of our lines and took us back to some of the trial lines we were using at the start of the season. Kalmikov, Tvrdon and Ivan was the only one unchanged.
And as much as anyone says he's not done anything all season I still rate him above Wojciak who looks rather out of his depth.

too many puckbunnys lately imho...... Are you having a larf Tex? There can never be too many puck bunnies. Bring 'em on! ;D First of all, I'm not here to gloat (Exept maybe to those who were predicting double figures, 7-0 etc ;D ) because that's just not my style. I just wanted to say well done to the fans who travelled tonight. There were plenty there and they did a good job. They got a good round of applause at the end. I will be writing a report for THF later and will post it here as well. Bear in mind that I'm a Bees fan, so there is bound to be a little bias Let's face it, we all see things in our team's favour. However, it will be pretty neutral and will give you an idea of how the game went.

I think it's time the John Craighead bashing should stop. I'd say without actually seeing the game that Panthers missed Craighead tonight, if only because as has been mentioned, the lines were messed around through his enforced abcence. To say he's done nothing so far this season is a bit simplistic. He has been lazy and does look disinterested at times but he's still got talent and he's shown flashes of brilliance in most games so far. I thought up until his stupid and needless penalty, he was having his best game so far this season and hopefully if he gets a good rollocking he might pick it up. It seems that Craighead is the target of a good many fans who can't wait to get on his back and Texpefs puckbunny quote holds some merit, as certain underperforming players who shall remain nameless seem exempt from criticism as they are the favourites of Panthers younger female fans. Not wishing to offend anyone, just an opinion. So lets just give the man a break, yes he's made some bad decisions, yes he's not performed to his best, but he's not been as bad as some people like to think and constant criticism is not likely to change anything.
Sorry this is on the Bees thread, I meant to start a fresh one. Please feel free to move it.

Like Tvrdon has, we can see why he aint in the show this year, even if the show aint started!
Krulis is out of his depth
Magdosko is of poor standard
Wojiak - is he here?
I agree Johnny aint go go going but so are many others
Thank god for Clarkie,Ricci,Ahlroos and Myers!

Just back from a rather long and ultimately frustrating journey to Bracknell. One phrase sums it up for me I'm afraid....Pi$$ Poor We were dominated for pretty much the whole game by a team who looked nothing special. Our passing was at best average and generally restricted to hit, hit, oops, lost it to the Bees. I will say that our defending wasn't too bad, the first two goals to the bees being on a break-away and a PP, but unfortunatley good as it may have been, it wasn't as good as the Bracknell defence. Try as we might we couldn't break it down. Who has the answer, I certainly know I don't, but Adey is going to have to do something and fast. As the final hooter went, the intollerably nosy section of the Bracknell crowd (complete with 'big bass drum') sitting above the away supporters, began a chant of 'You're supposed to be Elite!' For a few moments as the terminal malaise began to reach the core of my already frozen bones, I couldn't but help agree with them....

Simple explanation for tonights result - the best team won.
The Bees looked good all round tonight. They're quick, pass well, keep it simple, work hard and score on the powerplay. A good recipie for winning hockey games.
We lacked any teeth up front and didn't defend too well.
The Brit line was ineffective tonight. Might have been better to have left DC on that line and rolled it as one of the top two lines. Well, worth a try in view of our lack of threat up front.
As a consequence Carlsson and Ricci were carrying the the puck forward and driving into the Bees zone to try and get some offence going. They were our best players tonight. For me, Calle was our MoM without a shadow of doubt.
We also made an illegal stick call on the Bees (at a face-off in our own end would you believe?) - the stick was legal and the Bees scored on the ensuing PP! Hmmmm.
Despite the result I enjoyed the game - fast and entertaining and played in a good spirit. As their results have suggested so far this season, the Bees are one of the best teams in the country at the moment.
