timefor change. and ellis to get back to coaching the team.
who ever coming in with the big idea of putting ferera, blaz and shmyr out as a line with krajcek and moran when we are one goal down in the final minutes needs sacking immediately. i know it wasn't ellis.
we didn't really play that bad IMO, and depspite the low number of shots on lindsey i wouldn't blame him either, coaches fault on the empty netter not lindseys

Absolutely awful.
It says it all that even Simoes has stopped checking - it's as if he's given up on this team as a bad job - and I don't blame him.
48 shots to 18. If Ellis defends Lindsay YET AGAIN then he's not going to make it as a coach. Netminders are not just there to stop the basics (which Lindsay seems to struggle with as well), they're there to win you games (as Aubrey did tonight).
We've just not got enough quality. If we sign Forsberg, Sakic and...dunno, Drouin as a first line then we might finish mid-table, otherwise our last 10 games are pretty much the level this team is at. I've said it before, and it still stands - too many CHLers, not enough ex-NHLers.

Well here i go again, i don't actually make that many posts on this forum but i read it all the time, but lately i just need to say my piece!! Tonights game started ok and even when we went down by 1-0 was still optimistic, when it went to 2-2 was still ok about it but when they scored the 3rd imo it was downhill from there! Entertainment factor of the evening was Shymr and Payette, what a chicken, won't go with Shymr cause he knows he'll get his a*$e kicked, however once Shymr offered him he spent all night cheap shotting the smaller or more skillful players we have i.e #2 I can't believe that we are so poor, changes need to be made drastically. IMO we need to start at changing the netminder, Evan has been shocking for weeks now and tonight 13 shots on goal and he lets them score 4 not good enough!! And before anyone shouts me down, i would say imo that not one of them was a quality shot they were soft goals that he should have saved!!. I personally am sick of the excuses being made for this team and i sympathise for the players that actually go out on the ice and play and try to keep their heads up when they are losing i.e Krajicek, Danny Meyers and Simoes!! These seem to be the only players who continue to try even when the odds are against them!! Ellis leads by example on the ice but we have severly missed MacAslan or a goal scorer over the past 6 games, however he needs to hang up his skates and somebody needs to take charge behind the bench, because what we've had hasn't worked, again the cheap option of our coach becoming a player has backfired, we should have sent a signal out to this league to say that we were serious about being competitive and brought in a suitable replacement, but that was obviously not a financial option! I personally hope that something is done before next Saturday because if we continue like we are then it will be seriously embarressing. Newcastle were woeful tonight but they got the result, the way things are going with Belfast i dread to think what could happen!!!

Another Game, another disappointing display form the Panthers. The last goal came from a poor pass across the ice that was intercepted and by the time that Lindsay was told/became aware that the play wasn't in our hands the shot was aimed and ready to go! Poor overall, it seems to go down hill when we lose a goal, we then always look like we arnt going to get it back. Vipers 2 quick goals in the 2nd Period killed any hopes of getting anything out of tonight, didn't look up for it. I believe that there are player(s) working their notice, which in turn means that he/they are not committed. Changes have to happen soon to regain any chance of the League.

Well well well,i left feeling gutted once again, we didnt play that badly really just some defensive HOWLERS let the game go from 2-2 to 4-2 in 2 mintues. It was a close fought game until then but then it went away from us. We battled well and i thought played some really good hockey at times but just were all over the place in defence....again
Turning point of game was when Ellis missed his one on one just after we had tied it at 2-2...Vipers got took the lead and wham it was all over....The last goal was a joke, Lindsay skating off for the extra man but seemed to fail to notice that Vipers were skating down the ice so he turned around far too late as they tucked it into an empty net...............

Same here, i don't think that booing is going to help any confidence that is left, they know that they aren't playing to there full and a confidence boost is needed

Hang on a minute. Whilst I agree that 18 shots and five goals is not a good standing look at the other stats you gave. 48 shots and only three goals. Not good either is it. Look at it overall and no matter where you look, defence, forwards or coaching something is very definately missing. What that is I dont know but before you gun for Lindsay look at the overall picture. He cannot be blamed for the empty netter. He was instructed to leave the ice, and maybe not by ellis, but by the bench coach. That was a dreadful decision considering we never looked threatening even when we were a man up. Rob Wilson made sackings and changes recently and they have started winning. Perhaps Ellis should take a leaf out of his book. Jobs threatened may focus the team on winning again.

What's missing, a bloody goalscorer, our alledged goal scorer is conspicuous by his absence, Rodney.

Ellis said on Friday night on BBC Radio Nottingham, the team had been working hard on their finishing, it seems to me that you don't have to work very hard to beat Lindsey at the moment. Two shots at glove height tonite which were not hard shots, and when you think how many soft goals we have conceaded this season, you have to think how many changes not jus one change. CC gets a shut out at Bison tonight, that rubs salt in the wounds. I said it about three weeks ago, Ellis said at the start of the season Lindsey steps up to the plate in big games, well in our precourious position every game is getting to be a big games, he is not performing in the bread and butter games so what hope is there. A netminder is of course only as good as the D in front of him, but will get all the critisism if the goals are being conceaded, look at CC before he was chopped at Vipers, it works both ways if one or the other is lacking confidence or not confident in the others abilities it shows, like tonight and the last few games.
I agree with what has been put, above apart from Krajicek, Meyers and Simoes who did put some effort in and Ellis leading by example, the rest were not good enough, but i don't think changing all of the others for new players will work. ( State the obvious). Myers spent far to much time on his backside again.
Egg on face Ellis with regards to netminder but so what. What is more important your pride or the team as a whole.
Lets see if McAslan makes any difference tommorrow.
One last thing why BOOO your team some of them put a lot of effort inthey at least do not deserve that.
Lots of blue seats visible tonight, were they switching on the chistmas lights somewhere?

It will come good don't worry panther fans, or will it? Who do you wanna sack this week, who has or dosen't have confidence in the coach? To be honest at the beginning of the season i thought you were going to win something this year, but now i'm not so sure, what do you think?

I don't agree with the booing, but I also don't agree with giving a standing round of applause to the team after a performance like that.
These are players on the whole brought through the North American game - we're incredibly soft compared to fans over there!!
And Tambo, in answer to your question - I think so yes. Or if not Ellis, just the squad as a whole. Let's face it, we're not going to win the league, so why would you put your body on the line every night for the difference between finishing 7th or 8th?

I quite agree Hitman but we as suporters put up with it year in year out, we are the main team in british ice hockey no matter what any one says we should be winning everything going, never mind being also rans to teams that go into liquidation and break wage caps and do more come backs than a 100 year old pop star.
