Some decent Defenders wouldn't go a miss at Anfield IMO We have a good core with Kyriagos, Skrtel, Agger, Carragher and now Wilson. Looks promising that young kid. Our defenders are none too shabby, they just need to stay fit. We do need a leftback though, that should be our next signing. Sorry Good defence? Kyriagos, Skrtel, Agger, Carragher and now Wilson ???lol this is Liverpools problem, all these players are crap.

On their day I think Skrtel and Agger are as good as anyone. I think they're under-rated, especially Skrtel.

Are you blind, firstly you reckon Maicon is just OK now you dont rate Skrtel and Agger two world class center backs. Wilson is a good up and comer and will be a gem of a signing. Has bags of potential. Take you haven't seen him play then, nope you have seen everyone play haven't you....my bad. I think you have lost all respect for footy knowledge on here with this little pearler!

Never seen Wilson play, could be a good signing, but he won't be the finished article coming from Scotland. £5 mill is good business. Skertel is the best of a bad bunch IMO.
Why did Liverpool struggle so much last season then? One of the best Strikers in the League, 2 class centre midfielders, decent goalie.
Defence and wingers aren't doing the business imo. Hodgson should get a better system in place, which will instantly improve them.
When was the last time a player came through the youth team to the first team?

Lucio is world class, Agger and Skrtel are a long way from being world class!

The term 'world class' is used far too often now a days. Lucio is world class, Agger and Skrtel are a long way from being world class! By definition: "Ranking among the foremost in the world; of an international standard of excellence; of the highest order" Both players play for their country so are of international standard and play in one of (if not the best) league in the world. It may be a loose definition, but it is a definition. The reason why Liverpools defence was so bad last yea is because our best full backs and center backs spent long periods injuried. If we could play them two together more this season then our defence would be much better this year.

So Milner is now on the transfer list, as much as I know it wont happen I think the perfect destination for him would be the red side of Manchester and not the blue, with Giggs and Scholes soon to retire and becoming understandably less effective as each season goes by he would be an integral member of the team and just the creative midfielder they need.

Plus was defense your main problem last year? In my opinion no, of the teams that finished above you only United and Chelsea had a better defensive record. Your problem was scoring goals, 42 less goals than the league champions shows this! Who in your opinion will pick up the extra 40 or so goals to help you challenge?

Plus Barry may influence him and City will offer him more, but I agree he would be perfect for United or any Prem team in my opinion!

I'd also heard that rumour about his dislike of Man Utd but would that really run so deep that he'd refuse to sign for such a big team, although do they have the 30m to spend. If Milner really is leaving for footballing reasons then why would you go to a team already rammed with decent midfielders, I'm sure some of those players will go but even then there would still be a huge risk of being a squad player. If Barca eventually get Fab could Arsenal look at Miler as a replacement?

Providing Agger and Skrtel have good runs in the team injury free, they will be big players. Guess we will have to wait and see on that one then.

Better definition of 'world class' - can the palyer realistically be considered to be one of the two best players in the world at his position?
In other worlds - could he make Earth's 22 man squad to play Jupiter?
Clearly Agger and Skrtel wouldn't. Torres might. Of England players - Ashley Cole would be most likely. Gerrard and Rooney would have a shot but probably wouldn't.

Would be an interesting squad with a lot of disagreements no doubt.
We would need a good defensive left back as Jupiter's number 7 is a bit tasty.

A fully fit trio of Torres with Cole and Gerrard just behind him is truely frightening.
I hope that tempts Robben to come to us if he ever wants to come back to EPL. Robben up there with them is dream team style.

Most Leeds fans are hoping he joins City and uses the money he earns to buy Leeds. . distinct possibility of Alan Smith re-joining apparently though and possibly Woodgate on loan.

If Cole was really special Chelsea would of kept him as! I expect Cole Gerrard and Torres to all be fully fit for a very small amount of games next season!

I didn't say this season did I? Guess we will have to see what happens this coming season and will a bit of steady guidence we will be back.
Sooner as we get rid of the yanks we will be free to grow. Chelsea go through players like anything, I am guessing his release was due to last years injuries. IF he stays injury free this year (we as good as can be) then I can see him doing well.
But I good a lot is going to be suck it and see with Pool. No expectations for me this year, not in Roy's building season. Well apart from not getting relegated of course lol.

LIV being linked with Maynor Figueroa now. If City really do bid £60m for Torres then naturally LIV should accept. That is crazy money for an injury-prone striker. Barca paid half that for Villa.
The Balotelli deal is finally agreed. He could make his debut v Inter of all teams!
Spanish stories suggesting Barca could offer €50m + €10m in instalments. Arsenal want €60m but I'd be stunned if Barca offered it. So far Barca have offered only €35m. Arsenal would like Real to come in as Arsenal have shown previous interest in Benzema. Real would also like Cesc but there is an obvious problem to this deal ever happening.
Meanwhile Barca will buy a DM this week. Senna is amongst the names mentioned. He'll cost less than €10m so that excludes any bid for Masch.

I am Predicting Balotelli to be a flop if he comes. Anyone who wears that much jewelry while sitting on the bench is not serious about football, just in it for the money.

City can buy whoever they like. At the end of the day it will still be United and Chelsea battling for the title, with Arsenal, City, Spurs, etc vying for 3rd/4th...and Liverpoo hoping to scrape a UEFA Cup spot.
