The Calder generally does end up coming down to points, it's probably the most fashionable of prizes if you get what i mean. It's something like 25 years since a player of a team outside the top 10 or so won the Calder, so i just can't imagine O'Reilly getting it. Anderson can't keep Colorado in the hunt all season.
It's inevitable that Tavares will win it, regardless of whether he deserves it or not.

I agree with you on both counts and it's a shame that JT will get it regardless of his on ice showing for NYI.

im here, had a day off with being up til 3am boozing.
well losing to the leagues worst team is pretty horrific, but im sure Shin will agree that result will mean diddly squat when they miss out on the play offs

Typical response; anytime Detroit lose you gloss over it and attempt to deflect criticism.

Injury notes from last night are that Komisarek is listed as day-to-day but should be back to face Minnesota on Tuesday, while Williams is out for 8 weeks with a suspected broken leg.

Not really having all that much of a liking for either team, I really didn't give a damn who won out of Toronto and Detroit... but I was pleasantly surprised at it being a fairly entertaining game - and at the scoreline!
A few thoughts... Kessell looked good (did he get the credit for that goal that he knocked over the line but was going over anyway? - hope not) as did both netminders... the Monster being unlucky not to get a shutout. Komisarek's injury was a bit unfortunate... hip-checking the boards! Ouch... Although I thought Osgood didn't have too bad a game... Detroit seemed 'off' to me. Losing Franzen and that other guy (Filipilipupaloopa, or whatever he's called! ) - has that knocked the stuffing out of them? Toronto were well worth the win, but I'm wondering how much was them winning it and how much Detroit losing it. Still... Leafs fans should be happy - they're facing the Minnesota Wild next, and we're just plain pants this season. Likely to be a fairly easy scalp - unfortunately.
As I'd have thought you'd gather from my last post... the Minnesota Wild - so I won't be celebrating again this year! (In the Eastern Conference, I also follow the Tampa Bay Lightning... so not a huge amount of celebration likely there either).
