Ladbrokes.com are currently offering the following odds for the weekend Semi Finals:
RESULT AFTER 60 MINUTES PLAY ONLY
Sheffield win - 1.57 to1 Draw - 4.33 to 1 Cardiff win - 4.00 to 1
Panthers win - 1.90 to 1 Draw - 4.50 to 1 Coventry win - 2.60 to 1
RESULT AFTER OVERTIME & PENALTIES
Sheffield win - 1.36 to1 Cardiff win - 3.00 to 1
Panthers win - 1.61 to 1 Coventry win - 2.20 to 1
Best value to me looks to be Cardiff to win in regulation! ;D I think I may just have a punt!!

Hmm interesting Bwin had the 1/4 finals - but not doing the semis at all... (had a £10 on Panthers to win - only made £5!)

Rubbish odds. Its almost worth taking a punt and backing Coventry and cardiff as seperate bets. Then, anything but a panthers V Steelers final and youve made money. Dont think il bother, il stick with my regular season winnings and have a nice few drinks on them over the weekend and just enjoy (what I can still see) the hockey

Our odds seem to based on the view that we're at 'home' so are probably a bit lower than they ought to be.

Mythosman - if you want something doing properly... ;-) 13:00 Sheffield vs Cardiff 4/7 10/3 3/1 17:00 Nottingham vs Coventry 10/11 7/2 8/5 British - (Match betting Inc OT and penalties) Saturday 4th of April, 2009 Time Selection Odds Selection Odds 13:00 Sheffield 4/11 Cardiff 2/1 17:00 Nottingham 8/13 Coventry 6/5 So, first set of options is for the result after 60 minutes. You can select: home win/draw/away win respectively. Second set is for outright winners. Just to explain for people not used to betting. The number to the right of the / is how much you need to put on (stake) to get the number on the left of the / back (returns) if you win the bet you get your stake + your returns. My tip? Outside bet would be Cardiff to beat Sheffield in regulation at 3/1 I'll probably go for Coventry to beat Nottingham in regulation at 8/5 as I think it's the best value bet out of some rubbish options.

So am i correct in saying that Sheffield and Coventry are favourites to win the semis?!

Nope. Sheffield and Nottingham are.
If you put £1 on Sheffield to win you'd return £1.36 including your stake on Cardiff it would be £3 on Nottingham it would be £1.61 on Coventry it would be £2.20
Which makes Nottingham and SHuff the favourites as you return the least money. (It's to try and discourage you from betting on them as the bookies always prefer the outsiders to win - it's good for their bank balance!)

I think our odds aren't bad value considering the form of the two sides and our home advantage. Just got lucky with a £50 win at Corals so might re-invest it in the Panthers.
