Clan Sign Machesney January 10, 2013 Braehead Clan can confirm that goaltender Daren Machesney has joined the club.
The 6’0ft, 185lbs, 26 year old Canadian, from Hamilton, Ontario, joins the Clan this week, having previously played in the ECHL and AHL. This will be Machesney’s first season playing in the UK.
Machesney has previously played for the Hershey Bears, Springfield Falcons, Manitoba Moose and Worcester Sharks in the AHL, as well as South Carolina Stingrays, Victoria Salmon Kings, Elmira Jackals and Reading Royals in the ECHL.
Daren Machesney will replace Clan #35 Garrett Zemlak on the Clan roster. Goaltender Garrett Zemlak has been released by the club and we wish him all the best and thank him for his time with the club. It was a pleasure to work with Garrett over the last few months.
Machesney will wear the #1 jersey for the Clan and will join Clan #33 Mike Will on Goaltending duties.
Machesney had the following to say “I am delighted to join the Clan and play in Glasgow for the remainder of the 2012/2013 season. I am looking forward to playing in front of the Clan fans and joining the guys on the ice”.

Nothing on the EIHL site or the Sheffield Stir about JK joining them

Nicoletti was doing well at Clan too. 23 points in 24 games + hes a Dman.
I think Krestanovich will end up there.

Indeed. Poor Simmsy, it was a done deal wasn't it? ;D Perhaps Krestanovich realised its better to stick with a proper coach than sell his soul and play for a weasel.

;D proper funny.
Why not tell the truth? Do they think the fans are all mugs?
On the playing side if he applies himself and the new coach can fill up the import quota they could have a really strong finish to the season.

Braehead Clan can confirm the signing of Canadian defenseman Craig Cescon. The 26 year old, 6’2 195lbs D-man from Mississauga joins the Clan from Polish side GKS Katowice.
Cescon has played in the OHL, ECHL, IHL and CHL and is looking forward to playing for the Clan. He will make his home debut this weekend when the Clan take on the Sheffield Steelers.
Cescon said “I am delighted to join the Clan and play in the EIHL. I have heard nothing but good things about the organization from guys who have played there. I can’t wait to get on the ice and play for the Clan.”
A club spokesperson added “Craig is a big tough D-man and will really help strengthen our squad. We are looking forward to welcoming him to the team and we are sure that he will be an instant fan favourite. The current D guys have been working their socks off and are doing great, but having Craig join them will give them a little respite and strengthen their game.”
Next home game is Saturday 2nd February, 7.30pm – Braehead Clan Vs Sheffield Steelers

Anyone fancy kicking off a Rosters 2013-14? A few re-signings announcements and a few 2year deals from last year already out there to start us off.
